Chase Whitehurst

Advanced Actor/Combatant
Chase Whitehurst (They/Them) is an Advanced Actor Combatant and fight choreographer based in Greensboro, NC who has been training with the SAFD since they were 16 years old. They hold a 2nd degree black belt in taekwondo, and training in hapkido. They taught taekwondo with Clemmons Family Martial Arts before attending undergrad at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where they are currently pursuing a double major in Theatre and Philosophy, with a minor in Ethics. They work as a freelance choreographer at companies and schools around the NC area, including Fight Girl Battle World at UNC Wilmington, Julius Caesar and Shakespeare in Love with Sweet Tea Shakespeare, Evil Dead: The Musical at Camel City Playhouse, and others.
They have been a teaching assistant for Collaborative Combat Movement Arts in Raleigh since 2021 and the assistant teacher of stage combat at the Unioversity of North Carolina: School of the Arts since 2022. Chase is also co-teacher of UNCSA's Fight Club, and has experience at workshops across the country, including Associate instructor at the A-Town Throwdown, Production Assistant at the National Stage Combat Workshop, and Intern at the PSCW, Lonestar Smash, and The Dark Corner.
Chase's work has been put to film as well, with fight choreography on the web series Lexicon, shown at Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Their choreography and stunt coordination in The Kyodai is set to premiere next year.
