Zev Steinrock is the first SAFD Recognized Fight Rabbi (Ordained at the National Stage Combat Workshop in 2010). 

Zev is an actor, teacher, and fight director originally from Chicago. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois teaching acting, movement, and stage combat. Zev is also a certified Intimacy Director with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators. 

He has an MFA in acting from Michigan State University and is a certified Yoga Instructor. Prior to this, he studied at the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana where he received his BFA and Actor Combatant status in 2008. Zev has been lucky enough to attend workshops all over the country and has taught at many of them. Zev was honored with the 2011 Paddy Crean Award at the National Stage Combat Workshop. He served as the assistant coordinator for the National Stage Combat Workshop. Zev was formally the AC/AAC/Friend representative on the governing body of the SAFD and the SAFD IT Administrator. In 2015 Zev became a Certified Teacher with the SAFD and was honored with the Darrell Rushton Teaching Award.
