Advanced Actor Combatant
Raleigh, North Carolina native, and graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts high school drama program ('17), and Musical Theatre BFA program at Shenandoah Conservatory, Summa Cum Laude ('22).
McKenna (also known as Mac within the SAFD and to her best buds) was first introduced to stage combat in 2015 by FM Dale Girard at UNCSA's drama summer intensive. Upon graduation from UNCSA in 2017, she began more intensive and regular training at Collaborative Combat Movement Arts with Certified Teacher Jeff A.R Jones. She has attended the National Stage Combat Workshop two times, completing the ACW in 2019, and the AACW in 2021. She earned the Best Performer Award during her AACW intensive.
She currently trains with Neutral Chaos under the tutelage of FD Rob Aronowitz, CT Leighton Samuels, and FM Mike Chin, among other SAFD members based in New York City.
She is currently based in Brooklyn, New York and has aspirations to fight direct and choreograph, as well as to teach stage combat. She is particularly passionate about accessibility within stage combat as an art form and the promotion of body neutral language and sentiment in rehearsals and in the classroom.
