2024 NSCW Scholarship Applications
In addition to any discount for which an applicant qualifies, NSCW students can apply for a scholarship to the NSCW workshops.
Students can apply as they complete registration at https://www.safdnscw.com/
Specific application qualifications and requirements are outlined below:
People of the Global Majority / BIPOC Scholarship
The PGM / BIPOC Scholarship Fund is open to students who are members of the Global Majority / BIPOC in order to foster greater diversity within the SAFD. This scholarship was started in 2020 by the College of Fight Masters, whose members donate 10% of each adjudication fee to the fund. The SAFD offers a single, full tuition scholarship to a qualified candidate (with room, board and travel INCLUDED) to attend the NSCW Intro to Stage Combat Workshop, Actor Combatant Workshop, or Advanced Actor Combatant Workshop.
To QUALIFY, a scholarship candidate must:
- Scholarship applicants must be representative of the scholarship’s purpose.
- Demonstrate an aptitude toward or a strong desire to learn the skills and performance styles of stage combat.
- Demonstrate the need (not necessarily financial) for said scholarship.
To apply, scholarship candidates must submit the following items:
- Letter of intent
- Resume (CV if available)
- A letter of recommendation from a professional contact who can speak to the applicant's merits, capabilities, and/or aptitudes within a training setting. (This may be a director, teacher, past employer, etc.)

Carlos Lopez IV Memorial Scholarship
The Carlos Lopez IV Memorial Scholarship Fund is open to students who are women, LGBQTIA+, and/or PGM / BIPOC in order to foster greater diversity within the SAFD. The SAFD offers a single, full tuition scholarship to a qualified candidate (room/board and travel are the responsibility of the student) to attend the NSCW Intro to Stage Combat Workshop, Actor Combatant Workshop, or Advanced Actor Combatant Workshop.

General Scholarship
